Frank Schulenburg was born in Uelzen, a small town in Lower Saxony, Germany. Today he lives at Göttingen, where he writes his doctoral thesis in economic history. He had been a volunteer editor at the German Wikipedia since february 2005 and he quickly got involved with other projects as well. He was made an administrator on the German Wikipedia in October 2005 and on the German Wikisource in July 2006. Since february 2006 he is a board member of Wikimedia Germany. In spring 2006 he organized the exhibition "5 years of Wikipedia – a free encyclopedia conquers the web". Furthermore he was the leading organizer of the first Wikipedia Academy, a conference for academics and students held June 2006 in Göttingen. Since May 2006 he prepares the online-edition of a manuscript from the late 16th century on Wikisource, which has been digitized on his initiative.
