It was a mistake. --Rodrigofera 18:44, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Announcements on main page

Hi I am polish native user of Wiki and there are Announcements on main page of pl version of Wikiversity. Unfortunately there is huge mistake in translation for information dated on 27 May of 2008 about proposed closure of Wikiversity. Can you tell me how to edit this infobox (or is it available for admins only?) and I will do it. Regards--Verwolff 10:26, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] welcome/fr

You might want to take a look at Template:Welcome/Fr and perhaps turn that or Template:Welcome/fr into a redirect to the other. --mikeu talk 20:14, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] A python question on classes and globals

Bon jour!

I have a basic question on classes (in python), in particular, issues with local and global variables.

I want to see if we could convert group theoretical notions into programmes. It is natural to use classes, but I am new to it. I have begun with sketch user:hillgentleman/FiniteGroup.py. The first thing we can do with groups, is to check if a set-theoretic map between two groups is a homomorphism. The function call print m.isHomomorphism(fromGroup=A,toGroup=B,map={1:'e'}, verbose=True) is rather awkward; if m is a FiniteGroupMap object, then I should need only call it with print m.isHomomorphism which would return a True or False after a brute force check.

Currently, the script can be run. However, if I make the aforementioned replacement print m.isHomomorphism, I get an error message saying that the global variable fromGroup is not defined.

So what went wrong? <Hillgentleman| ~ | > 07:49, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Hum, sorry to can't help you, but i'm not able to create a python script. I'm just a user about already existing script.Crochet.david 08:14, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Custodian

Bon jour Crochet David ! Would you like to help out with the beta.custodian tools? Regards <Hillgentleman| ~ | > 18:35, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

if you think that these tools will help us, why not. Crochet.david 22:33, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Custodian

Bonjour! I have switched on your custodial tools. Thank you and please continue with your good work. Regards, <Hillgentleman| ~ | > 12:01, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I hope to not make stupidity. Crochet.david 16:48, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Deletion for spam

User:人间天国 / sulutil:人间天国 posted on many chinese language and multilingual wikis (such as zh.wikipedia (already deleted: wikipedia:zh:人间天国大学, wikipedia:zh:人类发展趋势, wikipedia:zh:信息定义, wikipedia:zh:世界发展趋势, wikipedia:zh:何谓人, and wikipedia:zh:宇宙信息系统论), commons (commons:Commons:文件上传服务. this is a completely wrong place to post) and here) to advetise his own idea. see luxo:人间天国. and i think the content he/she posted looks like something about cult in general rules. maybe nominating these pages on AfD page is ok (some of his articles on zh.wikipedia were speedy deleted, and some of them were deleted via AfD), but i cannot find AfD page on this wiki. --Liangent 04:57, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok, it's because the same text was written on several wiki that you said it was spam. I now better understood
好吧,这是因为相同的文字写的几个维基你说,这是垃圾邮件。我现在有了更好的理解.Crochet.david 15:48, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] School:هندسة

Hi, Mr. Crochet.david, Regarding the topic School:هندسة - it was a translation of the English topic, school:engineering at English Wikiversity, but not complete yet. I still confused whether to resume work or not because I can't get enough Arab volunteers to work sufficiently and so to request an Arabic Wikiversity. If you find it is worth to delete, it would be OK. I may try to work it again next month since I'm busy at work nowadays. Thank you very much.

[edit] Template:هندسة_كهربائية/سيرة_كهرباء

I'm sorry to disturb you, but I created this template, forgetting there was an existing one with a slightly different name. Now I would like to delete it but don't have the privilege to do so. I'd be glad if you do that for me.Email4mobile 15:12, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

To propose a page for deletion, simply affix the template {{delete}} to the page.Crochet.david 16:40, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] States of Wikiversities, IE Bug

For some reason IE seems not to be able to handle the short three-digit color codes (ex. bgcolor="#f53") you are using at States of Wikiversities, every cell is black. When I tested to replace it with the six-digit equivalent (#f53 = #ff5533) everything seemed fine. Kaj 09:34, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] States

Very nice work on the page. Congratulations and thanks a lot. But you made a small mistake. The Russian wikiversity has launched but it is still on the projects in incubation.--ZaDiak(T)(C)@ 18:48, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes, i've not update information since november so, i will use my holidays to make the update since the last. Crochet.david 15:33, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, sorry but i did not notice that you had not updated since november and i thought that you forgot to include ru.wv in the created projects.--ZaDiak(T)(C)@ 07:47, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
