Wikiversity Policy on Deletion[edit]

Wikiversity:Policies does not include a Policy on Deletion.

At this time, there are over 200 pages listed in the Category:Candidates for speedy deletion.

There needs to be a discussion leading to the establishment of a clear and concise policy on deletions, followed by a systematic review, per policy, of the 222 pages languishing in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion.

I suggest that a page such as Wikiversity:Page deletion/En be started where guidelines for page deletion can be developed and that the page be placed into Category:Wikiversity policy development. A corresponding multilingual coordination page (Wikiversity:Page deletion) could also be started. When the research policy was first being developed we tried to use the multilingualism system, particularly at Wikiversity:Research and Wikiversity:Scope of research. However, at that time I believe there was only a small amount of interaction between German and English Wikiversity participants and it was hard to agree on even basic terms such as original research. --JWSchmidt 20:53, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ι think that it would be helpful to develop such a policy. But the admins are doing the job (deletion) nicely. As far as I am concerned I haven't heard any complaints recently so there is no reason to hurry.--ZaDiak(T)(C)@ 11:40, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal[edit]

Why is there a signed "Proposal" on the policies page? Surely that should have been posted and discussed here on the talk page… - dcljr (talk) 00:41, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
